Warm Christmas greetings from the folks at ProJesus.   As we prepare to celebrate the birth of the Christ child, God’s greatest gift to us, may we find a moment, away from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and wrapping io get alone and present the LORD with a “love gift” of our time.  Time to be still and know that He is God.  Time to reflect on the valleys He has brought us through this year; the mountain tops some have experienced, and to thank Him for his grace and mercies that are new each morning.  We believe this expression of our love would please Him more than anything we could give.  He is worthy of our praise and thanksgiving and…our time.  After all, it is Jesus’ birthday.

GIVING THANKS FOR CHRISTIAN FRIENDS

"We give thanks to God always for you all, making of you in our prayers" (I Thessalonians 1:2).   

We all have much to be thankful for. It is certainly ap­propriate to give audible thanks for our daily bread, whether in private, at a family meal, or in public at a fine restaurant. In fact, Jesus set the example. When He miraculously fed the multitude beside the Sea of Galilee, He began with a prayer of thanksgiving: "He took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and broke them. . . . And  they did all eat, and were filled" (Matthew 15:36-37).

It is good to give thanks for our food and shelter and clothing, but the blessing of having Christian friends is even more thankworthy. The first letter to the Thessalonians was possibly Paul's first Spirit-inspired letter to Christian friends, and Paul began with a testimony of thankfulness to God for them (see text above). When Paul wrote to the Philippians, Colossians, Corinthians and the Romans, he began similarly.

Throughout our Christian life journey we develop last­ing Christian friends, and can thank God for all of them. What a blessing to have such friends, and how fitting it is to give God special thanks for them at this time. HMM

                        WHY JESUS IS BETTER THAN SANTA CLAUS

                             Santa  live s at the North Pole…JESUS is everywhere.

              Santa rides in a sleigh…JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

                   Santa comes but once a year…JESUS is an ever present help.

                Santa fills your stockings with goodies…JESUS supplies all your needs.

             Santa comes down your chimney uninvited…JESUS stands at the door and knocks, and then    

                                           enters your heart when invited.                                                                          

      You have to wait in line to see Santa…JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

                 Santa lets you sit on his lap…JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn’t know your name; all he can say is “Hi little boy or girl, what’s your name?”…JESUS knew your name before we did.  Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too.  He knows our history and future and he even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

            Santa has a belly like a bowl full of  jelly…JESUS has a heart full of love.

            All Santa can offer is HO HO HO…JESUS offers health, help and hope.

Santa says “You better not cry”…JESUS says, “Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.”  Santa’s little helpers make toys…JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.  Santa may make you chuckle but…JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

         While Santa puts gifts under your tree…JESUS became our gift and died on a tree.

                                It’s obvious there is really no comparison.

                        We need to remember Who Christmas is all about.

                 Yes, JESUS is better, He is even greater than Santa Claus!
