The U.S.A., The World, and Jesus (God the SON)

Will any of the subject items listed above last forever?  The U.S.A. is one of the newest countries in the world.  Most Americans love their country.  Countries like France, Germany, England, etc. were in existence long before the U.S.A. came along.  However, all the signs today show that the U.S.A. is in trouble or will soon be in trouble in all areas of life as we know it, including real estate, finance, auto industry, small business and many others.  However, the biggest downfall of our grand country is spiritual.

We at ProJesus would like to add that we all love our country.  We were born here, raised our kids here, and they in turn raised their kids in this wonderful country called the United States of America.  We would like to see our nation last another 200 years, but let’s closely look around and really see what is happening to our country, and we are not talking about the last election.  The problems in America go much deeper than an election, the problems go to the very heart and soul of every man, woman and child in the U.S.A.  Yes, we love the U.S.A. but more, much more, we LOVE JESUS who is the CHRIST.  We must follow HIM.

The world today is home to over six billion people, but Jesus says in won’t last.

2 Peter 3:4-7 says:  “For this they willfully forget: that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,  by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.  But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same Word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”   The world and heavens will be destroyed and Jesus will Create a new earth and heavens.

What about Jesus?  What does He say about Himself?  Jesus says in : Rev 1:7-8

‘Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.’ "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."  Further, He is the Creator of all things which is stated in: John 1:1-4 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”  So, Jesus is as C.S. Lewis stated: He is a liar and a lunatic or He is the LORD of all Creation.

In Paul's graphic description of the "perilous" characteristics in the world of the "last days” is this warning concerning the religious leaders (spirituality) of the last days. They would observe the outward form (sacraments, religious services, etc.) of "godliness", but would reject its supernatural aspects.  Doesn’t this sound like the World Council of Churches with their pluralistic ideology?  They are a very liberal organization which operates today. They would desire the trappings of religious professionalism according to: 2 Tim 3:1-5 “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power.”

Such specifications aptly describe the modem world of scientism and liberal theology, which pervades practically all religious denominations and overlaps with all kinds of liberal social movements (women's liberation, gay rights, "New Age" pantheism, and others). Although these are widely diverse in structure and purpose, they all share one vital feature in common: they reject supernatural Christianity.

This prophecy is not given in Scripture simply as a matter of information. It contains a warning urgently needed by Bible believing Christians who are under pressure today to compromise with humanistic liberals on this great doctrine of God's creative power (Even in the U.S.A.).  The words spoken to Solomon, 3000+/- years ago, may be even more relevant today than in his time.  You have read or heard this verse, but read it again and understand the urgency.  The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:12-15: “Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: "I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.”  What Scripture gives us is wisdom.  True wisdom is stated in  James 3:17-18: “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”   False wisdom, on the other hand, may come from the world outside us ("earthly"), the flesh within us ("sensual"), or the powers of darkness tempting us ("devilish"). All such wisdom leads to "envying and strife . . . confusion and every evil work".  Believers, therefore, should be able to recognize the influences of the world (And the U.S.A.), the flesh, and the devil.  Only with the wisdom of God can we, as Moses said to the people of his time: Ex 14:13 "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today.”

"If any man love the world, the love of Jesus is not in him” (1 John 2:15). Thus, to overcome the love of the world, we must cultivate the love of Jesus in our hearts and lives.  Did you get that?  To love the world is to NOT love Jesus. Matt 6:24 “You Cannot Serve God and Riches.”  "No one can serve two masters ; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon ("wealth, riches," or "earthly goods").

The devil and his evil hosts use their own dark powers to tempt and destroy the people of God. Christ assured Satan's defeat when He paid for our redemption (He died for our sins) on the cross.  Hundreds of years before Christ, Joshua said it well.  He said in: Josh 24:14-15 "Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!  And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve (Like the present day world), whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

A little storyA request for protection

As the commander of Israel's armies, David was an expert at analyzing an enemy's defenses and planning fortifications. Under David's leadership, the strong fortress of Zion (later called Jerusalem) was captured from the Jebusites. And after he captured it, David oversaw the building of additional fortifications around Zion (2 Samuel 5:6-10). But David didn't place his trust in the fortress he had built. He knew God was his true "towering rock of safety." There was no safer refuge than the Lord's sanctuary—the presence of the Almighty.  Although we might not realize it, we are just as vulnerable as King David was. We need to be led to Jesus’ rock of safety. Run to the Almighty in prayer and trust in him to keep you safe.

Most of us who love the U.S.A. want the country and all our family and friends to be safe.  But, look around, we have little control over the rest of the world.  What some of the radical groups around the world are planning, no one knows.  That’s why we must run to the LORD and, according to the Great Commission,  tell all people about the Gospel.  Thus they will know the love of Jesus and the meaning of eternal life with Him.

The following is a excerpt from a article by Bruce Wilkerson:

God is judging the sins of the nations including the U.S.A.  Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel in his day and the same words pertain to us today.  Jeremiah 18:11-12 "Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, 'Thus says the LORD: "Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good." God's warning were rejected and they said, "That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans, and we will every one obey the dictates of his evil heart.”

Yet, as is always the case, public opinion is no yard stick for measuring TRUTH and WISDOM!  Real TRUTH and WISDOM can only be found in Jesus the Christ.  We will be celebrating His Resurrection on April 12th.  Please join us at ProJesus by being humble, turning from our sins, praying and seeking Jesus with all our heart.
